Mikyung Sung

Professor of the Department of Food and Nutrition and the Vice-President at Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, Korea

Mi-Kyung Sung is a professor of the Department of Food and Nutrition and the Vice-President at Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, Korea. She also served as the Dean of the Office of Research & Business Development (2016-2018) and the Director of Research Institute of Asian Women (2012-2014). Dr. Sung has been involved in a number of expert committees. Most recently she acted as a member of Review Board for the Nutritional Science Division, the Korea Research Foundation to co-ordinate the grant review committees. She is a member of Health Functional Foods Review Board in the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Korea, and the Board of Agricultural Science and Technology in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Dr. Sung is also involved in many academic societies. She served as the president of the Korean Society of Cancer Prevention and the Vice-President of the Korean Society of Clinical Nutrition Research. Current research focuses on diet-induced metabolic disturbances. Dr. Sung published more than 150 papers in peer-reviewed journals and contributed more than 10 book chapters as an author.
