Professor of Sociology of Education and a special advisor to an Executive Director and Vice-President for promoting gender equality at Yamagata University, Japan

Ginko Kawano is a professor of Sociology of Education and a special advisor to an Executive Director and Vice-President for promoting gender equality at Yamagata University, Japan. She also works as a member of the Science Council of Japan and a director of the International Society for Gender Studies. She joined the surveys which were conducted by gender equality bureau, cabinet office, government of Japan in 2017 and 2018 as a member of an expert committee. She has been conducted many kinds of research projects on Gender, Education and Science (e.g. http://www.stem-diversity.com). Her new project- Expanding Female Students' Career Choices in the STEM Fields through a New Model of Articulation from High School to College - A Four -country Comparison- has just start this academic year (https://st.stem-diversity.com).
