Pontsho is an executive at the Technology Innovation Agency, a position she has held since early 2011 overseeing a portfolio that includes Mining and Minerals, ICT, Energy and Advanced Manufacturing. Before joining TIA she held other executive and management roles in public sector.

She started her career in the mining sector as a geologist and process engineer. Notable in her six years in public sector is her oversight of the establishment of the National Space Agency. Her qualifications include a Masters in Space Systems Engineering, Honours in Management of Technology, Bachelor in Mineral Processing Engineering, and Diplomas in Economic Geology and in Science Education. Pontsho’s greatest strengths are her creativity, drive and leadership. She thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand the company’s reach. A calculated risk-taker with deep technology industry knowledge, she believes in embracing the core values of integrity, innovation, learning and growth.  When she is not working, she enjoys reading, playing golf, road running and watching soccer and rugby.
