Past Summits

The Gender Summit started as part of a European Commission Project, genSET, in 2011. Rather than reporting on our activities that were coming to an end, we wanted to launch something, bring the community together in a movement that would far outlive the project. And the Community responded. Not only did we have fantastic response in Europe but partners from America, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Africa have since joined, taking the GS mission across the world. The first European edition defined the overarching theme of the GS, Quality Research and innovation through Equality”. Each new GS defines its own sub-theme, responding to the current and regional landscape. Our continued thanks go to the GS partners, sponsors and supporting organisations that collaborate financially and intellectually to each GS. Together we are affecting positive change in science across the world for the benefit of men, women and all of society.
